We got a Blackhawks/Redwings series, and I couldn’t be happier. I did a comic last year about the death of Bill Wirtz, then owner of the Chicago Blackhawks. Now, I expected the departure of Wirtz to result in good things for Chicago’s hockey team, but I didn’t expect them to go from also-rans to vying for the Western Conference Championship in the space of a year. Amazing. Can’t wait.
Common perception is that the Wings will roll right over these sprats in Chicago. The reason for this is that they’re young kids and the Wings are seasoned vets. There is merit to that, to a point. All that veteran experience didn’t stop the Ducks from taking Detroit to the brink. And when we’re talking about the Ducks we’re not talking about an offensive juggernaut. Meanwhile, the Blackhawks just beat a guy is my pick for #1 goaltender in the league. How do you think they’ll fare in going from shooting at Roberto Luongo to shooting at Chris Osgood?
So time to put up or shut up, right? This all comes down to Ozzy. If he plays well, the Wings win. I don’t think that’s going to happen. Hawks in 7.
Then there’s the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston was booted out, so there is nothing to talk about. Canes suck, Pens suck. Fuck the East. That’s right, Fuck Sidney Crosby and fuck you Turner Watson, the Canes suck until they move back to Hartford and spark up the Brass Bonanza.

Hawks in 7? As a Hawks fan, I can only hope you’re right….. though I’m not holding my breath and expecting that we might force a game 6 if we’re very lucky.
As for the comic, it’s all about the balance. I love the zombie storylines and the random comics about equally, I think having a few months of one followed by a few months of the other is the best balance….. then again, what do I know?
Yeah that sounds like a good idea, it’s just relieving that he returns to the story after almost a year(?) of no story what-so-ever.
Also I would banter with you guys about hockey but I know nothing about sports in general >.>
Amen. The east is a joke, the few games I caught of the pens/caps series made me cry, neither team deserved to be in the playoffs. The B’s were a western conference team stuck in the east, and they got knocked out by the friggin ‘canes. It’s a crying shame.

Oh man I wish I could watch Hockey where I live, but no one in the southwest gives a crap about even the playoffs.

Gpkechuck, you are in luck, hockeywebcasts.com streams games live. All kinds of games, NHL, IIHL, Quebec major minor, tons of stuff. They stream the playoff games there. If not I would try ustream.com, type in the name of your favorite team and there is USUALLY a channel for people to watch the games, ESPECIALLY in the playoffs. Hockeywebcasts is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, I live in Oregon so I either drive to BC or San Jose if I want to see a game and that ain’t happening anytime soon.
Also, glad to have the story arc back! (although if memory serves didn’t we all get killed by the sun or something… oh well it’s still great!)
Pittsburgh, all the way… Penguins will win, Steelers dominate the world and yes, even the Pirates are great. Actually, the Buccos suck, but still. I go the their games.
